The web design lectures list

Recently I’ve started listening to mp3s of web design and development lectures on the way to work. So far I’ve gravitated towards conference lectures, but there are several universities that publicly post not only lecture slides but also audio and video.

After doing some quick research, it seems there is no definitive list of these kind of resources already out there. So the idea with this post is to provide a list of links to said resources with either audio or video available to download, as well as the accompanying slides where possible. Although the list is short right now, I expect it to lengthen with time.

I have also included a few useful podcasts at the end but I don’t know if I’ll keep those links around as the list at The Web Design Podcast Library, Digital Realm already seems pretty comprehensive.

  1. These look pretty good! There’s some great stuff at the UK Open University too: http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/course/category.php?id=7 I’m studying an 8 hour set on earthquakes so I’ll know why if one hits in August! (Fingers crossed, honest)

  3. Only a vaguely related post, but I’m not sure where to post a comment on your past web development, so here goes. Did you design the current Reef site? Whoa, shocka the 1990’s. How did you hook up with them?

  4. Haha. Dude I did their website in like 1997 or something like that. I hooked up with them by being a total fan boy. I was in contact with them through the fan club and ended up getting tons of stuff from them. Like if you ever need a copy of every reef magazine article from the mid 90s, I’m your man. I even got a signed photo (photocopied, the photo that is, don’t worry the signatures are real) that is still in my old room in england. In the end Sony realized the internet was going to happen (shame they didn’t get it right about minidisks - did you ever see the minidisk ads that Reef were in???) and got a real web designer to build them a new one.
